Now in its fifth year, Manifest Music Festival is an independent two-day, multistage, underground music festival in Chapel Hill, NC focused on dismantling patriarchy, misogyny and white supremacy by amplifying the voices of BIPOC artists and artists of marginalized genders including women, non-binary folk and trans men. This year’s performers include BANGZZ, Sand Pact and Pie Face Girls.
In The Heights, by Lin-Manuel Miranda, is a musical that’s hit close to home for me and my fiance Ela Perez. We both fell in love with the movie for it’s relatable characters, cultural themes, comedy, memorable music, and it’s sense of community. In this podcast, we discuss each song in depth and give our personal connections to the story.
