My name is Julia and I'm aka'd as Hurricane Julia.
My name is an homage to my childhood state Florida, but I was born in Raleigh and I'm glad to be home.
I'm a senior here at NCSU majoring in Communication with a concentration in media though my specialties are in couch lounging and television watching.
I am madly in love with good ol' fashioned rock 'n' roll, gruffy folk, uber melodic tunes, soul, and some harder garage rock.
Some of my favorite bands/artists are: Lykke Li, Bonnie "Prince" Billy, The Tallest Man on Earth, Laura Marling, At the Drive-In, Peggy Sue, Cold War Kids, Bob Dylan, Baths, Bloc Party, Damien Rice, Kings of Leon, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Modest Mouse, Carolina Chocolate Drops, Devendra Banhart, Aesop Rock, Movits!, Mark Growden, Chris Bathgate, Jose Gonzalez, Grandaddy, Gomez, Tom Waits, tUnE-yArDs, Dizee Rascal, Delicate Steve, Cocorosie and Calexico, to name a few.
My show is on Mondays from 3-5 with the ever lovely Walter-Ego.
