Allow Myself To Introduce Myself

I'm A Man. A Myth. A Legend. I am not community standard. I want to chase oblivion.

I began this journey at WKNC in the summer of 2007. After kicking it off as the Music Librarian and then performing as WKNC's Program Director for a year I then wound up as Local Music Director for a term and now find myself host of the Local Beat.

As host of the Local Beat, I not only only take my job very seriously, but it is also something I enjoy wholeheartedly. Living in what many consider to be one of the top up-and-coming music scenes in the country is a thrill in itself. However, though at times it is a burden, helping promote local music that is in our area is quite the honor. The bands, musicians, and artists that I have the opportunity to interact with on a daily basis are professional and skilled, as you can imagine, and I am truly humbled to be welcomed into the close-knit family that our local music community has formed. With that said, I am always open to hearing new, exciting young bands that come to the area. Feel free to shoot me an e-mail, add me on MySpace or on Twitter.  Also, don't forget to tune in every Friday evening to the Local Beat from 5 to 8 p.m.

Local Music Submissions
At WKNC we do a review process for all new music that comes in. All songs and albums are assessed and analyzed by our music directors for music quality (in terms of production and also musical ability) and whether that music will be accepted and appreciated by our audience. If you could, please send any recorded music you have to the following address:

We make no guarantees on airplay and cannot promise anything. However, even if we do decide that you are not worthy of airplay on WKNC please know that we are always supporting local bands on our blog, rock report, and over other various mediums.
