It is officially that time of year: Spotify Wrapped has been released. This event is a much anticipated one by many a Spotify listener and I have decided to share my wrapped, unedited. Some of these songs have explicit content, so fair warning to everyone.
This year certainly feels like it has gone by quickly. I was completely taken aback when I saw my Wrapped had come out. Not only have I decided I will share my 2025 Wrapped playlist, but I will also share a bunch of my key statistics.
First things first, I have listened to 25,664 minutes. Considering my occupation and how I spend my personal time, that number is staggeringly low.
I listened to 289 genres, but below are my top five.

Spotify has assigned me a listening age of 51. Apparently, I have been really into music from the early 90s. Considering my love of grunge and nu metal, I can’t say I am surprised.
I have listened to a total of 1,697 songs. Again, this feels staggeringly low but I suppose I have my favorites. These were my top songs.

I have listened to 821 artists this year and I know that I discovered a fair amount of new ones in this total. These were my top five.

As shown, Public Theatre was my top artist and I am seemingly in the top 0.7% of their listeners. I can’t say I am terribly surprised by this. As a DJ at WKNC, I play small artists and I know for a fact that Public Theatre was featured in almost one of my sets.
Next, I have Audioslave listed. I can say with full certainty that the reason for that is because I have over 130 streams on “Like a Stone.” Truthfully, Wrapped has indicated that almost 100 of those streams happened in one day. I can’t claim to remember any particular day when I listened to “Like a Stone” almost 100 times. I can only conclude that the song was selected as a track and played in silence throughout the day.
My next artist, unsurprisingly, was Alice In Chains. I love Alice In Chains. Layne Staley is a personal vocal goal for myself as an artist and I have yet to listen to an Alice In Chains songs I haven’t liked.
Next, I have The Offspring listed. I think this particular statistic is very interesting. For the last two years, The Offspring have been my number one top artist by far. I have seen them live, have covered a couple of their songs on my personal social media platforms and in private, and I love many of their songs. What I find interesting is their dramatic drop from first place, two years in a row, to fourth place immediately after.
Lastly, Shocking Blue takes the fifth place spot. This artist surprised me as well. While I do love Shocking Blue and have grown up with them here and there, seeing them on my top five is interesting. It shouldn’t surprise me too much since every time I play one of their songs on my sets, I have to go into a long spiel about their history and their personal style, as well as how important they were for psychedelic rock and especially for women in music.
I have unsurprisingly been sorted into the “Grit Collective” and been assigned the role of Curator. Considering the exact definition of the role is as follows, “You’re a focused playlist creator, combining the best of your club into mixes.” I can’t find this surprising. Not only do I make many playlists for my sets for WKNC and for these publications, but I tend to make them for myself and my own events in my personal life.

This is my unedited Spotify Wrapped. I did omit certain statistics because I didn’t feel that they were super relevant for this post. But, the statistics I did include, are true and unaltered. Some of the songs in my playlist are songs I wouldn’t have necessarily wanted on there, especially for anyone to see. But I hope that this shows what kind of music I have enjoyed throughout this year and properly demonstrates that even if there are some songs or statistics you maybe wouldn’t be super comfortable showing others.
