DJ Dragonfly’s July Favorites

Once again, we are at the tail end of a month.  I can’t speak for anyone else but for me, July has been on the uphill in comparison to the rest of the summer.  That being said, my music taste for the month has also been altered.  While many of my favorites are still the same from last month, I have accumulated many others.

I think that my favorites from this month are a bit more well-known.  I have some recent releases, classic oldies, and of course some songs from pop culture. My genres also cover a rather broad spectrum.  Anything from classic rock with The Clash to indie with Flipturn and even some songs in other languages.  Some of these songs have explicit content, so fair warning to everyone

One of the songs I have included doesn’t really fit in with the rest and that would be “Turn the Other Cheek” from the show “The Righteous Gemstones.”  The song features a meld of disco, showtune, and obscure religious themes.  The song has a very fitting place in the show and I find myself jamming along on a fairly regular basis.

Some of the artists I have included are significantly smaller than others.  Next to The Offspring and The Strokes, I have artists like Yogurt and The Z-Man Experience.  I like to have variety in my playlists and have a unique listening experience every time I hit play.  The shuffle feature is my best friend for when I don’t know what I’m in the mood for.  This is probably why my favorites tend to be so diverse.  I hope everyone enjoys this playlist.
