Tag: Goodbye Titan
The Post Rock Block is presenting Goodbye, Titan with No Eyes and The Revolutionary Sweethearts on Saturday, Sept. 8 at DIVEbar at 10PM. This event will not require a Hopscotch wristband, but it’s still close to all the action of downtown being located on Glenwood South — and free.
Goodbye, Titan will also drop by the studio during The Post Rock Block 7-8PM this Sunday, Sept. 2, to speak more on their upcoming show, new songs and Hopscotch festivities.

Lots of fun stuff to do this week thanks to WKNC and Tir Na nOg and New Raleigh. First of all there is the awesome line-up, second, there will be awesome delicious local beer. In particular Craggie Brewing Company from Asheville, NC will be there with THREE beers to choose from:
Burning Barrel- a bourbon chipotle porter
Antebellum Ale- an 1840s North Carolina beer recipe
Cask of the Battery Hill- an English style rye ale
Can’t wait to get my hands on all of these. There is a different brewery at the pub every month on the second Thursday so be sure to mark your calendars! Oh, and the music. Goodbye, Titan is always a great band to see live. I haven’t seen Minor Stars yet but they’ve gotten awesome reviews in the Independent and a lot of other places, so I’m absolutely excited for that one. And Monsonia I’ve heard once through the door at the Nightlight. We didn’t feel like paying to get in (so used to free shows at Tir Na nOg , I guess) so I stood outside to listen, and I can tell you right now that they kind of sound like Arcade Fire.
As always it starts at 10 p.m., 21 and up, and FREE. See you there, friends.

Thursday August 26th is going to be the first LBLB for the Fall 2010 semester! Come and unwind from your first week at school at Tir na nOg Irish Pub for Local Beer Local Band Night! This weeks bands are Goodbye, Titan and Once and Future Kings. FREE, 21 and up, starts at 10pm!
I will also be interviewing BOTH BANDS this Thursday from 7 to 8pm! Tune in!
You can expect some wonderful landscape music from Goodbye, Titan. If you enjoy listening to our Post Rock Block then you you absolutely love this weeks headlines for LBLB. The Independent would say that this band is good for “fans of Mogwai and Explosions in the Sky.” If that sounds like you, come on out!
You might have caught Once and Future Kings last semester when they did a free show on Lee Field. Well, now catch them indoors at Tir na nOg! As quoted from their Myspace page, “Once and Future Kings blend hook-laden, anthemic rock with a twist of dystopian lyricism.Critics compare them to Radiohead or The Flaming Lips, but your mom might say The Beatles.”
See you this Thursday!! And by the way, I recommend a pint of Foothills Hoppyum IPA. That’s what I’ll be having!

Get ready for it! This Thursday, like each Thursday, WKNC and Tir na nOg Irish Pub bring you Local Beer Local Band night. This Thursday we have Goodbye Titan, The White Cascade, and Starmount. Hold the phone, this will be a good show!
As usual this show is FREE FREE FREE and there is an awesome selection of local beers which are all on special. So special that this show, as are all LBLB shows, is 21 and up. Sorry, kiddos.
You can expect some wonderful landscape music from Goodbye Titan. The Independent would say that this band is good for “fans of Mogwai and Explosions in the Sky.” If that sounds like you, come on out! If you wonder what that sounds like, you come on out too!
White Cascade is a trio of Matts—as in everyone is named Matt—and rock out with long, building, amazing tracks.
Starmount, as our DJ Caid put it, is “somewhere between country, ambient, experimental rock, and elevator music.” All of these bands are mostly instrumental and tickle your ears slowly and then build to strong endings that leave with your eardrums completely rocked.
Don’t forget the local beers on tap. Big Boss’s new brew Diablo was recently added to the Local Beer list! Yum yum! This will be a very enjoyable show of homegrown bands and homegrown beers, so bring your friends! WKNC will be there!
> 6/17- Colossus, White Tiger, The Bed of Roses
> 6/24- Embarrassing Fruits, Whatever Brains, Yardwork
Just because the mailman ain’t delivering today doesn’t mean the Local Beat is taking a day off. We’re having Corbie Hill from Battle Rockets and Where The Buffalo Roamed in at 5:00.
Should be a good conversation. Check out some of the music to be featured at “Let Feedback Ring” and the full lineup below.
Show is at Sadlack’s Heroes on Hillsborough Street and starts at 1pm
