Now the Walkman did improve in size and usability that I am sure of.  I know I still have one sitting around somewhere gathering dust, not sure if it still works or not.  I think I probably had 3 or four of them during the time I was in school and I can always remember them getting smaller and then eventually &quot;almost&quot; water proof options I think?  I also remember the very first CD Walkman I ever had and I know my tape Walkman outlasted the CD version for sure.

Everything changes with time, look at how big the early mobile telephones were.  They certainly have come along it leaps and bounds as well.  

I think the best thing about the Walkman is the fact that there weren&#039;t so many switches and knobs or touchable spots or screens etc.,  These days it seems to take a week just to learn how a new telephone works let alone ipods!

Great story though and glad to see the old stuff does get remembered sometimes!</description>
